Bamboo fibre is naturally rounder and smoother than cotton, which is what gives it that silky feel from the very first use. It's also more absorbent, dries faster, and resists odour naturally — so your towel stays fresher for longer between washes, without needing harsh detergents.

Yes. Bamboo fabric is naturally hypoallergenic and free from the itch and roughness that can irritate sensitive or newborn skin. We don't use harsh chemical softeners in our finishing process — the softness comes from the fibre itself, not a coating that washes out.

This is the most common concern with bamboo, and it's a fair one — poorly woven bamboo can turn rough over time. Belle Rive is woven for durability first, so it actually gets softer with every wash rather than breaking down. We recommend a cold wash and low tumble-dry for the best results long-term.

Machine wash cold with like colours, and tumble dry on low — or line dry if you prefer. Avoid fabric softener and bleach, as they coat the natural fibres and reduce absorbency over time. No special detergent is required.

Bamboo grows up to 30 times faster than cotton, needs roughly 70% less water, and doesn't require pesticides to thrive. It regenerates from its own root system without needing to be replanted. None of that changes the way the product feels or performs — it just means it's a fundamentally lighter load on the planet.

Each product page lists exact dimensions and GSM (fabric weight) under the Details tab, since this varies by item — bath towels, hand towels, and baby essentials are each woven to a weight suited to their use. As a general guide, heavier GSM means denser, more absorbent, and more durable fabric.
